TRAVEL AND ARRIVAL

Entry Requirements (for foreign visitors):

    • Valid passport (6 months validity)
    • eTravel registration (mandatory, fill online before arrival)
    • Visa requirements vary by country (check Philippine Embassy/Consulate website)

Airports: Mactan–Cebu International Airport (CEB)

By Air (most common for international and domestic travel)

  • From Outside the Philippines: Fly to Mactan-Cebu International Airport (MCIA). Many international airlines offer direct flights from various cities in Asia, the Middle East, and some parts of the U.S.

  • From Within the Philippines: Book a domestic flight from Manila, Davao, or other major cities to MCIA. Cebu Pacific, Philippine Airlines, and AirAsia operate frequent flights.

By Ferry (popular for inter-island travel)

  • From Nearby Islands: Ferries are available from islands like Bohol, Leyte, and Negros to Cebu City. Fast ferries such as OceanJet and SuperCat connect nearby islands to Cebu via the Cebu City Pier.

By Land and Ferry Combo (from nearby provinces)

  • From Mindanao or Luzon: You can take a bus and RORO (Roll-On Roll-Off) ferry. Many bus companies offer direct routes, but travel times are longer than flying.

From Mactan-Cebu International Airport: You can take a taxi, Grab, or MyBus (affordable airport shuttle) to reach UP Cebu and Magnum.  Simply tell the driver to take you to "P Cebu, Lahug."  This is a straightforward route, and most drivers are familiar with it.

  • Grab App: The South-East Asian “Uber” The most convenient way to book taxis or private cars. Widely used and reliable. Download app
  • White Taxis: Available at malls, hotels, and airports. Always ask the driver to use the meter.
  • Jeepneys: The cheapest mode of transport but can be crowded and may be confusing for visitors unfamiliar with routes.
  • Buses / MyBus: Connects Mactan–Cebu Airport to SM City Cebu and IT Park. Affordable and comfortable.
  • Walking: Safe in commercial areas like IT Park, Ayala Center, and SM Seaside, but best avoided late at night.
  • Motorbike Hailing (Angkas / JoyRide): Useful for quick solo trips to avoid traffic, though not ideal for long rides or luggage.

💡 Tip: Cebu traffic can be heavy during rush hours (7–9 AM, 5–8 PM). Plan extra travel time, especially between the airport and hotel.
