Celebrating Emerging Voices in Research, Equality, and Change
The IAPESGW Kluka Love Young Researcher Award celebrates the passion, vision, and commitment of emerging scholars who are shaping a more equitable future for girls and women in sport and physical education.
Created in honor of Dr. Darlene Kluka, past president of IAPESGW, and Dr. Phyllis Love—two remarkable leaders who dedicated their lives to mentoring others and advancing gender equity—this award recognizes young researchers whose work embodies courage, curiosity, and care.
Recipients of the Kluka Love Award represent the next generation of thought leaders in our field. Through innovative research, they challenge traditional boundaries, question inequities, and illuminate new pathways for inclusion and empowerment in movement, sport, and physical education.
More than a recognition of academic excellence, this award is a celebration of purpose. It honors those who transform research into action, data into dialogue, and knowledge into a force for change in the lives of girls and women around the world.

Eligibility
The award is open to young scholars aged 35 and below who are presenting at the 2025 IAPESGW World Congress.

To submit your application, simply prepare the following:
– Full Name
– Presentation Title
– Acceptance Letter for the submitted abstract
– Copy of Passport or Government ID (to verify age eligibility)

Award Details
🏆 Two awardees will each receive USD 250 and a certificate, inclusive of the IAPESGW membership fee.
If an awardee is already an active IAPESGW member, the full amount will be awarded.
Evaluation Criteria
Nominees will be evaluated based on the following:
Quality of the submitted abstract
Delivery and clarity of the oral presentation
Ability to respond thoughtfully and clearly to questions on the floor
Members of the IAPESGW Board and other appointed evaluators will review abstracts and observe the presentations during the Congress.
