Lariba Bows Out of Rio Olympics

Flag-bearer and table tennis player Ian Lariba succumbed to a loss against Han Xing of Congo. Lariba was ranked 325th in the world, while Han was 161st coming into the Games.

Lacuna Second PH Athlete to End Rio Olympics Bid

Rappler reports: “The 23-year-old Lacuna finished 6th in the second heat of 7 swimmers with a time of 4:01.70, with a final ranking of 46th out of 50,” in the 400m freestyle.

Golfer Miguel Tabuena on Competing in Rio

According to The National website, the 21-year-old Miguel Tabuena will be joining golf legends in this year’s Olympics: Bubba Watson, British Open champion Henrik Stenson, Rickie Fowler, Danny Willett, Justin Rose and Sergio Garcia among others.
