Filipino Nurse Finishes 247-km Spartathlon

Filipino nurse Rolando Espina, Jr. ran for 33 hours to finish the 247-kilometer Spartathlon last September 30 to October 1, in Sparta, Greece. He had the privilege to raise the Philippine flag beside the statue of Greek warrior Leonidas.

Fil-Am John Dodson Falls Short at UFC Fight Night 96

Rappler reports: “Filipino-American fighter John Dodson suffered a split decision loss at the hands of Brazilian combatant John Lineker in the main event of UFC Fight Night 96 on Saturday, October 1 (Sunday, October 2 in Manila) at the Moda Center in Portland, Oregon.”
