What’s Next for Gilas Pilipinas After FIBA Asia

Despite failing to get the gold in the FIBA Asia Championship against China yesterday, Gilas will still have a chance to earn a slot in the 2016 Rio Olympics, as the other three semifinalists (Iran, Japan and Philippines) have earned tickets to join one of three FIBA qualifying tournaments happening in July 2016.

Siargao’s own 18-year-old surfing ace John Mark Tokong bagged his first ever world qualifying series title in the 21st Siargao International Surf Cup, a tournament sanctioned by the World Surfing League and the Asian Surfing Championships.
